“My first book. One of the most significant events in English history happened 380 years ago this week. The defeat of the King at the Battle of Naseby led to the modern democracy we, and so many other countries, know today. It also shaped the modern British army.

I have been helping the Naseby Battlefield Project with content and education over the past year and was delighted to write this book for them. As well as looking at the origins of the battle, it recalls the atrocities that happened immediately after the defeat and the pensions victims received in the years after the Civil War ended.

This Saturday, 14th June, marks the 380th anniversary of the battle, and the charity is holding a days of events to remember what happened in the fields around Naseby. The book will be available to buy for £10 and all proceeds will go to the charity. (Postage also available).
